Let's get to know SKSPPI! The Special Survey for the Study of Inventory Changes (SKSPPI) is an annual survey conducted by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) to obtain an overview of inventory quantity and value at the beginning and end of the year. The main objective of this survey is to identify inventory patterns and structures based on commodity type and business classification, as well as to obtain information on the ratio of inventory to production value. The data generated from this survey is crucial for investment analysis and the calculation of Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
SKSPPI covers various business sectors in Cirebon Regency. Survey respondents consist of private companies across various business categories, such as industry, trade, and others. The survey asks about inventory positions, inventory patterns/structures, and the ratio of inventory to production. This survey is also used as a component in calculating GDP and Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP).
On Monday, June 16, 2025, the Cirebon Regency Statistics Agency (BPS), through the Regional Balance and Statistical Analysis Team (NERWILIS), led by Young Expert Statistician Widjayanti, held a Special Survey Officer Training for the Study of Inventory Changes (SKSPPI). Five participants from Statistics Partners and five BPS employees participated in the training, totaling 10 personnel. The Head of the NERWILIS Team at BPS Cirebon Regency, Widjayanti, served as the training instructor.
The purpose of this training was to strengthen participants' understanding of the concepts of inventory and fixed assets, which are essential in compiling inventory components in the GRDP using the expenditure approach. Furthermore, the training also aimed to equip officers with a proper understanding of how to record inventory changes, such as raw material stock, work-in-progress, and finished goods. It is hoped that this training will ensure that the SKSPPI survey in the field runs according to procedures and produces accurate data.
