Inter-Census Population Survey (SUPAS) Prospective Field Surveyors Training 2025

BPS Kabupaten Cirebon through the Social Statistics Team again held training for prospective field officers for survey activities. This time the survey is the 2025 Intercensus Population Survey.

The Inter-Census Population Survey (SUPAS) is a population survey conducted between two population censuses. SUPAS aims to estimate the population and demographic indicators in the period between two censuses. Data collected in SUPAS includes basic population information, births, deaths, movements, employment, housing, and current issues such as disability and climate change.

SUPAS is conducted to estimate the size, distribution, and composition of the population, as well as to estimate demographic parameters such as fertility, migration, and mortality.

SUPAS is conducted periodically, usually every 5 years after the population census. SUPAS has previously been conducted in Indonesia in 1976, 1985, 1995, 2005, and most recently in 2015. SUPAS data is used for development planning, evaluation of government policies, and also to conduct population projections.

The training was opened by an Associate Expert Statistician of BPS Cirebon Regency, Yanti Heryanti, who represented the Head of BPS Cirebon Regency. Serving as the training instructor was Ana Fa'atin, Head of the Social Statistics Team of BPS Cirebon District.
