SAKERNAS Field Survey Data Collection August 2024

Sakernas was specifically designed to collect employment data in Indonesia. Since 1986 until now, the Central Statistics Agency has routinely implemented Sakernas. 

Since August 2020, apart from obtaining data estimates on the number of employed & unemployed people, other employment indicators, as well as developments at the national, provincial and district/city levels, Sakernas also aims to collect information regarding the impact of COVID-19 on employment.

Data and information collected through Sakernas was carried out by direct interviews with selected sample households.

With a larger number of samples (four times) compared to February, the August Sakernas will produce employment data with indicator estimates up to the district/city level. 

Data collected in the Sakernas survey includes school participation, training/courses, disability, work activities in the last week, main job, informal workers, job search activities/preparing for a new business, work experience, pre-employment card program, as well as several other data related to employment.

What is most awaited from the results of the August 2024 Sakernas are the Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) figures at the Regency/City level. The Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) is a description of the percentage of the number of unemployed to the total workforce in an area.
