Food security is a crucial issue in Indonesia. The availability of sufficient food to meet the needs of the population is very important to avoid prolonged political and social turmoil.
One manifestation of the government's concern for this issue is to make the need for food a human right for Indonesian citizens as regulated in Law Number 18 of 2012. This effort is of course in line with the first and second goals of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), namely ending poverty in anywhere and in all forms and end hunger, achieve food and nutritional security
better and supports sustainable agriculture.
One of the strategic surveys in the agricultural sector carried out by BPS is the Food Crop Tiles Survey. The Food Crop Tiles Survey is a routine survey carried out by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) every subround. This survey has the main aim of obtaining information regarding productivity data on food crops, both rice and secondary crops. In addition, this survey also collects information on a number of variables that impact productivity, such as cultivation characteristics and government assistance for improvement
agricultural productivity.
Today, Friday, January 12 2024, BPS Cirebon Regency through the Production Team held a "Rice Tiles Survey Briefing Using the FASIH Application". As we know, FASIH is an integrated data collection platform owned by BPS. FASIH is currently used by BPS to collect data from the field with various surveys and censuses. Data collectors in the field use this application to record information obtained in the field. This is a manifestation of the reform of business processes at BPS, which previously used paper (Paper and Pencil Interview), to become paperless or with software (Computer Assisted Personal Interview). So, currently enumerators in the field no longer carry paper documents, but instead take notes using gadgets/smartphones.
Head of BPS Cirebon Regency, Judiharto Trisnadi opened the briefing activity which was attended by BPS organic employees and statistical partners as well as providing direction regarding the tile survey. The briefing was guided by the head of the Cirebon Regency BPS Production Team, Joko Mulyanto.
In his direction, the Head of BPS Cirebon Regency emphasized the importance of professionalism and integrity of the tile survey officers in producing very strategic agricultural data. Moreover, according to him, with increasingly developing technological advances, quality agricultural data must become a necessity so that there is no longer any debate in society regarding agricultural productivity data.
The briefing activity closed with an introduction to the FASIH application for tile surveys by the Cirebon Regency BPS Junior Statistician, Asri Ardiayuningtyas. It is hoped that with this application, tile survey officers can easily record agricultural productivity of food crops, accompanied by the variables that influence it.
