BPS Kabupaten Cirebon through the Production Statistics Team conducts ASF Survey activities every month. ASF observation or Area Sample Frame Survey is a data collection method conducted by the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) to estimate the size of rice and corn harvest areas accurately and efficiently.
This survey is conducted by directly observing a sample of segments in the field and extrapolating from the sample to the population.
ASF aims to obtain data on rice and maize harvest areas, crop development, as well as a basic reference for rice ubinan samples.
ASF surveys are conducted by direct observation of selected segment samples in the field. The sample segments have a square-shaped area.
ASF is conducted every month on the last 7 days. Field officers observe 9 points in each rice ASF segment and 4 points in the maize ASF segment. ASF provides objective, accurate, fast, and modern data for estimating harvest areas, but the implementation of ASF in the field sometimes faces challenges, such as difficulties in accessing land or bad weather.
