National Survey of Financial Literacy and Inclusion (SNLIK)

National Survey of Financial Literacy and Inclusion (SNLIK)

January 31, 2025 | BPS Activities

Financial literacy and inclusion play an important role in the economy and public welfare. At the individual level, good financial literacy can encourage someone to engage in financial behavior and inclusion that can ultimately increase financial resilience in causing someone to choose bad financial decisions, which then face them with undesirable financial consequences and economic conditions.
At the global level, financial literacy and inclusion are believed to be able to encourage a sustainable economy, income equality, and poverty alleviation. Therefore, it is important to know the level of financial literacy and inclusion in a country.
In this regard, the Financial Services Authority measures the level of financial literacy and inclusion in the country in the form of the National Survey of Financial Literacy and Inclusion (SNLIK). SNLIK has been implemented 5 (five) times, namely in 2013, 2016, 2019, 2022, and 2024. SNLIK 2024 is the first time that the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) has collaborated with the Financial Services Authority (OJK) in conducting a special survey aimed at measuring the level of financial literacy and inclusion in Indonesia.
Through this collaboration, improvements have been made in terms of both methodology and the overall SNLIK business process. Gradual sampling that meets statistical rules and the implementation of business processes based on the Generic Statistical Business Process Model (GSBPM) are expected to improve the quality of the data produced, so that in the end it can provide an accurate picture of the condition of financial literacy and inclusion in Indonesia.
At the beginning of 2025, BPS Cirebon Regency through the Social Statistics Team participated in the 2025 SNLIK Survey. A total of 3 organic employees and 1 supervisor were tasked with conducting the survey enumeration.
Hopefully the level of literacy and financial inclusion of the Indonesian people will improve from year to year so that the people's economy will develop better.
