Briefing Of POLDIS and VPEK Survey 2024

July 4, 2024 | BPS Activities

Trade distribution is an economic activity that bridges production and consumption in distributing commodities from producers to consumers. The distribution of these commodities is closely related to the role of intermediary traders, both large traders
and retail traders, as a liaison between producers and consumers so that a trade distribution chain is formed consisting of producers, intermediary traders, and
final consumer. Each province in Indonesia has different comparative advantages in meeting domestic needs. This can be influenced by natural conditions as natural resources and the culture of a region as human resources
in producing certain commodities. Provinces that are more superior (central) can meet demand from other provinces and conversely, provinces that are less superior can become market destinations for central provinces. In this way, there will be a distribution of trade between regions with various dynamics of problems.

To illustrate this problem, it is important to carry out a Trade Distribution Pattern Survey (Poldis) on several selected commodities so that the distribution pattern of each commodity in each region can be described. It is hoped that the results of this activity will provide an overview of domestic trade distribution patterns as a reference for building a more efficient trade distribution system.

On Thursday, July 4 2024, Cirebon Regency BPS held a Briefing for Distribution Pattern Survey Officers (POLDIS) and the 2024 Warehousing, Expedition and Courier Survey (VPEK). This activity was held at the Cirebon Regency BPS Office, Jl. Sunan Kalijaga No. $ Sumber Regional Government Complex. The briefing event was opened directly by the Head of BPS Cirebon Regency @joediharto, with 2 (two) teachers, namely Supriyanto and Iik M Taufik.

Hopefully POLDIS and VPEK data
2024 will be used by the Government to analyze the main patterns of trade distribution supported by data regarding total trade and transport margins (MPP) from producers to
final consumer.
