Metadata training in the Cirebon Regency Government environment

Every statistical activity, be it Census, Survey or Administrative Compilation (KOMPROMIN) must be documented in the form of metadata.
Metadata is structured information that describes, explains, finds, or at least makes information easy to find again, use, or manage.
Metadata is often referred to as data about data or information about information. This metadata contains information about the contents of data that is used for the purposes of managing the file/data later in a database.
Metadata has several benefits, including the following:
- As documentation of data and information
- Avoiding duplication
- Facilitating the search, use,
and evaluation of data and information
- Facilitating data management
as an organizational investment.
Metadata itself consists of several types, namely:
- Descriptive Metadata: metadata that describes a source to search for and identify data
Example: Activity metadata
- Structural Metadata: metadata that identifies the technical creation of data
Example: Indicator metadata and variable metadata
- Physical Metadata: metadata that contains information to help manage a resource
Example: Library catalog
BPS Cirebon Regency through the IPDS TEAM on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, became a resource person in metadata training within the Cirebon Regency Government. This activity is part of the sectoral statistical development carried out by BPS Cirebon Regency.
The speaker was the Young Expert Statistician of BPS Cirebon Regency, Yahya Ubaid.
This activity was attended by the Head of the IPDS Team of BPS Cirebon Regency, Adam Akhmad, Head of Statistics Section of DISKOMINFO Cirebon Regency, Nunu Nugraha and representatives from the Agriculture Service of Cirebon Regency as the host.
Hopefully this activity can be useful especially for statistical activities in the Department of Agriculture and generally for the development of sectoral statistics in Cirebon Regency.
