Abstract

The number of labor force in 2023 was 1,192.36 thousand people, an increase of 81.83 thousand people compared to 2022 of 1,110.53 thousand people. The Labor Force Participation Rate (TPAK) increased by 0.63 percentage points from 65.53 percent to 66.16 percent.

The working population is 1,101.09 thousand people, an increase of 80.68 thousand people from 2022 of 1,020.41 thousand people. The employment field that experienced the largest increase was the service field (85.07 thousand people). Meanwhile, the employment sector that experienced the largest decline was the Processing Industry (4.59 thousand people).

A total of 461.45 thousand people (41.91 percent) worked in formal activities, an increase of 30.13 thousand people compared to 2022.

The Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) in 2023 amounted to 7.65 percent, a decrease of 0.46 percentage points compared to 2022 which amounted to 8.11 percent.
