Discussion on the KBLI SE2026

The Cirebon Regency Statistics Agency (BPS) held a discussion on the KBLI SE2026 on Tuesday, June 24, 2025. This activity aimed to align the understanding of all BPS Cirebon Regency employees who will be assigned as supervisors/field inspectors for the 2026 Economic Census regarding the grouping/assignment of KBLI codes.
As we all know, every business activity must be grouped into a specific KBLI code. This code consists of a 5-digit number preceded by the alphabetical letter of the business field category. Occasionally, boundary cases arise, leading to confusion when entering the KBLI code for a business activity.
As I mentioned in a previous post, the KBLI codes for a single item/merchandise can vary. This difference can be due to the sales method and location. For example, a food vendor could fall into the industry category, the retail trade category, and the accommodation/food and beverage service category.
Hopefully, this discussion will lead to a mutually agreed-upon KBLI code in Cirebon Regency, in accordance with the technical guidelines, so that SE2026 officers can assign KBLI codes correctly.
