Component Structure of Household Consumption in Cirebon Regency 2020-2024

May 16, 2025 | Other Activities

Sedulur Data,

This time I want to discuss the structure of household expenditure/consumption of the people of Cirebon Regency.

The infographic that mimin displays this time, illustrates the structure of household final consumption expenditure in Cirebon Regency from 2020 to 2024.

It can be seen that the structure of the final consumption of Cirebon Regency households is dominated by food consumption compared to non-food consumption. The pattern of expenditure on food every year tends to remain in the same range / proportion. However, the trend for food expenditure is increasing from year to year, namely from 59.13 percent (2020); 60.42 percent (2021); 61.25 percent (2022); 61.18 percent (2023), and in 2024 it increased to 61.40 percent.

On the other hand, the proportion of non-food continued to decline, namely in 2020 by 40.87 percent; in 2021 by 39.58 percent; in 2022 by 38.75 percent; and in 2023 grew by 38.82 percent; while in 2024 it decreased again to 38.60 percent.

Theoretically, with a decrease in income levels, consumption patterns tend to return to fulfilling primary needs, namely food / drink. The question is, is it true that there is currently a decrease in income in the community so that the proportion of food and beverage expenditure is increasing? or are there other factors that cause public expenditure on food and beverages to increase in percentage?
