BPS Cirebon Regency becomes a resource person in KEPOKMAS activities

BPS Cirebon Regency through the Distribution Statistics Team became a resource person in the Early Warning System (ERWAS) socialization event and Technical Guidance for Survey/Monitoring of KEPOKMAS (Community Basic Needs) Prices implemented by DISPERDAGIN Cirebon Regency.

This event was held at the Business Meeting Hall of the Trade and Industry Service (DISPERDAGIN) of Cirebon Regency on Wednesday, October 30, 2024.

Young Expert Statistician of BPS Cirebon Regency, Sujono, was assigned as a speaker from BPS.

In his presentation, Sujono explained the statistical business process at BPS to produce quality data. Starting from the recruitment of survey officers, officer training, field implementation, supervision to checking the results of data collection. Each stage must comply with strict SOPs so that errors can be minimized.

Furthermore, he also explained about price statistics and price surveys conducted by BPS, the definition of inflation and deflation, and IPH (Price Development Index).

For information, BPS RI calculates IPH (price development index) based on price change data for 20 commodities collected by SP2KP enumerator officers at Disperdagin.

Cirebon Regency itself has an application called KEPOKMAS to input, monitor and report daily commodity prices collected by honorary workers who record prices in markets in Cirebon Regency. The KEPOKMAS application initiated an "Early Warning System" related to prices which is useful for monitoring prices and preventing commodity prices from getting out of control.
